The day X finally came and you arrived to Oslo. Naturally, if you want to see some interesting and memorable places. And the more places you visit – the better.
Oslo has enough of places, which are definitely worth of seeing. Here there is one of such places.
It is world`s known sculpture park that was created by the famous Norway sculptor Gustav Vigeland.
There are 212 extraordinary sculptures made of granite, bronze and iron on the 80 acres territory . All of them represent figures of people with different emotions and moods. A separate part of the park is dedicated to representing children.
Dominant sculpture is the "Monolith" which is14 meters high and consists of 121 human figures. It can be interpreted in different ways, but certainly, every visitor will find his own meaning in each work.
The park is visited not only by thousands of tourists, but also by many local residents. It is nice to take a walk through the maple alleys or have a picnic on the lawn. Also you can sit with a cup of coffee and a fresh roll at the Cafe Vigeland, which is located near the main entrance.
By the way, entrance to the park is free.
